Sofubi project -part 1

Thank you everyone who visited the First blog last time, and clicked the like button.
It may not get as many visitors as social media, but this blog brings me a different kind of joy. I feel deep conection with all of you here.

So, today,
I wanna say this:
"I want to make a Sofubi!! "
"At this point?"
"Yes, at this point!"
For those who may not know, I used to create original wax sculptures for Bandai's Sofubi toys, like Ultraman, Godzilla Kaiju, Masked Rider, Pokemon, and more when I was young.
Some of you might even have owned Sofubi toys that I made.
Because of this, I've often been asked "Why don't you make an original Sofubi?"
Thankfully, many toy production companies have invited me to
make Sofubi toys with them.
Fortunately, I had chance to create several Dunnys of Tokyo Jesus design with Kidrobot, J★RYU and amazing artists. (Thank you J★RYU and the Staff at Kid Robot!)
But, unfortunately, many other projects never came to fruition.
The image below is one of unused design I did for some project.
「Ogress -鬼婆-」This was a Sofubi design I provide for a U.S. toy maker.
I had been waiting for the right timing to focus on Sofubi project.
Now, with the custom issues in the U.S. and current shippingdifficulties,
I decide to postpone the next pre-order sale. It's a big challenge, but I believe the situation will eventually improve.
And in the meantime, it's agreat opportunity to take one the things I've always want to try!
The two designs I shared are still among my favorite, so one of them could possibly to become my first Sofubi.
But, I'm also considering creating brand-new designs for this project, or digging up more unused designs from the pasts.
I’d love to run this project together with many of you, my collectors and supporters, so I think it could be fun to use crowdfunding.

Very cool to see behind the scenes! I love the Planet Girl design, that has my vote between the two.
They are both stunning, I would love to see Ogress as a sofubi design. I love the details of the different heads. I think it would work really well. And yes, crowdfunding is a great idea. I'm in!
Both are nice, like the short ogress. But if the other changes from a space pistol to a space axe, that would be nice to see too. And if it goes to crowed funding, Im in.
